Abstract

We discuss the transportation of molten pig iron in hot-metal ladle cars and mixer ladle cars at metallurgical plants. It is determined that manual traffic management and entry of data on the amount transported in each ladle or mixer have the most significant impact on molten pig iron transportation efficiency. We review prior work on this problem.
