Abstract
Teaching and training students future profession is considered in the article in three directions: work of the curator, scientific and research work, and teaching subjects. The article describes the curator’s work, life conditions in hall of residence for successful adaptation of first-year students, business game as a teaching method which was realized by teaching staff of the Chair «Exploitation of railways» of the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Railway Transport, competition «Best in profession».
