Abstract

In this work, non-linear electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in conjunction with a macrohomogeneous model has been used to study water reduction on a 10 mole% gadolinia-doped ceria porous electrode. Comparison between two different proposed mechanisms of a 1D semi-infinite diffusion scenario provided poor agreement with the experimental results. Such failures were attributed to an observed deviation from semi-infinite diffusion under some of the experimental conditions.
