Abstract

Problems of pollution of water bodies are studied based on a theoretical description of migration and accumulation of suspended solids. The main stages of the study include the analysis of available field data, the development of mathematical models of interaction between suspended solid fluxes in the bottom zone, and numerical experiments. The scientific and methodological issues of studying pollutant spreading are discussed. Physical parameters are evaluated. The processes of pollution accumulation in silts are considered. Specific studies of technogenic pollutant migration in Valdai Lake are considered as examples.
