Abstract

Barrel unimorph is composed of the metal barrel shell and piezoelectric ceramic disc affixed on the shell bottom, its flexural vibration is investigated with modeling and experiment. The barrel unimorph was modeled with finite-element method to analyze the vibration mode and calculate the relationship between the structure dimension and vibration frequency. The factors influencing resonance frequency were also discussed. According to the simulation, the structure of the barrel unimorph was optimized and the samples were fabricated in practice. The vibration mode of the sample was measured. The results show that the frist step resonance vibration frequency of the sample agrees well with the calculation by finite-element method.
