Abstract
The wide-area backup protection system is coordinated by multiple protection devices. The backup protection trip algorithm is not verified by simulation, which will leave hidden dangers to the operation of the system. In this paper, the protection system is modeled by UPPAAL, and a method for modeling and simulation verification of the tripping behavior of the protection system is proposed by using UPPAAL. Firstly, the UPPAAL model of the protection device, circuit breaker device and protection system is given, and then UPPAAL is used to simulate and run the model. The UPPAAL tool is used to simulate and verify the model for several typical situations in the 3-bus system. The results show the method in this paper. It can complete the simulation of the protection system, which is of great significance for reducing various hidden dangers in the system design.
