Abstract

The basic device of a photovoltaic (PV) system is the solar cell. In the research literature, there exist several models to describe PV cells, the most commonly used is the single-diode model, because of its accuracy and simplicity. In this paper, the single-diode solar cell model is implemented under LabVIEW software and the current-voltage (I-V) and power-voltage (P-V) characteristics of PV generator are simulated at different temperature and solar irradiance conditions. This allows investigating the variation of maximum power points (MPP) and predicting system’s behavior under different environmental conditions.
