Abstract

Abstract This study implemented the experimental and theoretical modal analysis of the cartesian robot used in injection molding machines. The experimental modal analysis was calculated with CADA PC, and the theoretical modal analysis was studied based on the finite element method with COMSOL. To verify the rigidity strength and modal shape of the original structural design of its 3-axis cartesian robot. At the same time, build a finite element model of the robot which is validated using the modal parameters of experimental analysis. Structural diagnosis based on modes shape and resonance vibration results was carried out; structural design would be improved and the feasibility of replacing new materials would be assessed. Under the same load, the robotic arm could be lightened, or the load intensity could be increased, which can achieve the advantages of low power consumption, small size, and increased loading volume.
