Abstract

Barium titanate was doped with ≲ 1 mol % Mn and sintered in air under conditions producing grain growth. Treatment at elevated temperatures in atmospheres of various oxygen partial pressures resulted in changes in crystallographic transition temperatures and in resistivity that seemed to be associated with a change in the valence state of manganese.
