Abstract

1. 1. The characteristics of aldrin epoxidase, 7-ethoxycoumarin O-de-ethylase and Cytochrome P-450 (components of a mixed function oxidase system) in trout ( Salvelinus fontinalis) liver are described. 2. 2. Feeding of p, p′-DDT or p, p′-DDE to trout over a 4 week period to produce tissue concentrations of around 20 and 60 ppm wet wt, respectively, did not induce the activities of any of the enzymes listed above, of aniline hydroxylase, nor of microsomal protein levels above those occurring in trout not exposed to these compounds.
