Abstract

In this paper we represent a waveguide with the aid of an equation of the Schrodinger type by analogy with a quantum potential barrier. We apply this theory to evaluate the frequency shift due to the insertion of a small dielectric object in the microwave cavity, and also to the calculation of the limits of the pass and stop bands of a corrugated waveguide.
