Abstract
Abstract Two aspects must be considered in outlining minimum criteria for validation of analytical methods: management issues and technical issues. Management needs background information and information on issues, options, and implications to identify priorities. The value of the work should be clear to ensure its support and implementation. International adoption of AOAC guidelines for collaborative interlaboratory studies would provide technical criteria for future tests.
