Abstract

Mindfulness training may be helpful to reduce stress for informal carers of mental health service users. However, this training is intensive and it is not known if carers can commit the time required. This article describes a service evaluation of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy for stress reduction (MBCT-SR) course for eight carers of relatives with mental health problems. The course was feasible and acceptable for the majority of carers who attended and their caring role was not a barrier to engagement with the programme.
