Abstract
O presente artigo pretende analisar os diversos discursos politicos produzidos e reproduzidos pelas elites politicas em Cabo Verde, em torno de qual ilha deveria sediar a capital do arquipelago. Pretende ainda analisar os discursos em torno da construcao de Mindelo, representada como sendo o progresso e o futuro de Cabo Verde. Propoe ainda analisar e compreender os argumentos politico-economicos apresentados para justificar a transferencia do governo, como especial atencao para a centralidade geografica, comercio externo e existencia de bom porto para a navegacao. Palavras-chave: Cabo Verde; civilizacao; elites politicas; ABSTRACT This research analyzes the various political speeches produced and reproduced by the political elites in Cape Verde, around which the island would host the capital of the archipelago. It also aims to analyze the discourse surrounding the construction of Mindelo, represented as the progress and the future of Cape Verde.It also proposes to analyze and understand the political and economic arguments to justify the government's transfer as a special attention to the geographic centrality, foreign trade and the existence of safe harbor for navigation.
