Abstract

There has been an amazing increase in the number of acoustic tumors that have come to operation. This is primarily the result of much improved diagnostic techniques. Foremost in this area has been the development of positive contrast material making use of Iophendylate as a contrast substance. This has allowed the early radiologic diagnosis of many cerebellopontine angle tumors before they have reached the size that causes increased intracranial pressure.
