Abstract

Cf/SiC composite and Invar alloy have been brazed by using AgCuInTi active filler. The interfacial microstructures and mechanical properties of the joints were investigated. The results showed that the reaction layer on the Cf/SiC side consisted of TiC+Ti5Si3. At 720 °C, some Ti atoms remained in the middle of the filler and reacted with Cu and In to form Cu2InTi phase. At 750 °C, Ti atoms were not concentrated in the filler but uniformly distributed in the brazing seam, reacting with free Si to form Ti-Si brittle phase. The shear strength of the was about 47 MPa at 720 ℃ for 10 min
