Abstract

Porous/dense alumina multilayer composites were fabricated by continuous tape casting method. Pore shape in porous layer was controlled by burn-out the graphite particle for plate-like shape pore and PMMA for spherical shape pore. It has been observed that the damage tolerance behavior was more enhanced in the porous layer with plate shape pores rather than in that with spherical shape pores.
