Abstract

Large microbodies containing conspicuous crystalloid inclusions were found in the root cells of rice plants water-cultured with various nitrogen sources. These microbodies were different from those observed in other plant cells. Cytochemical staining with the diaminobenzidine method showed that they contained catalase.
