Abstract

A digital filter design based on a 16-bit single chip microcontroller is described. The hardware for this signal processing system employs the Intel 8097 microcontroller and some glue logic. The software, which implements the digital filter algorithm, is based on the microcontroller's interrupt mechanism. A design example of a digital notch filter using the bilinear z-transform method is presented together with its test results.
