Abstract

The glucosinolates in seeds of Erysimum rhaeticum Schleich. ex DC. have been identified by structure analysis of their sulfur-containing enzymic hydrolysis products, comprising 5-methylthiopentyl and 6-methylthiohexyl isothiocyanate, the corresponding 3-hydroxylated isothiocyanates, and the sulfoxides and sulfones of the latter. The phytochemical results are evaluated in terms of their possible taxonomic significance.
