Abstract

To the Editor.— I believe that a protest must be made regarding the position and actions taken by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in relationship to the use of methyl methacrylate. I think there is justification for the FDA to evaluate new and experimental drugs and to control these drugs in relationship to the toxicity and possible harm that may be done to the body by their use, and thus control the use of toxic elements on the population before adequate study has been completed. But, for the life of me, I cannot understand the logic of the position taken by these federal agencies in the use of this drug, restricting its use according to their present attitudes.
