Abstract

Metamaterial based reconfigurable fractal body worn antennas are special kind of antenna through which low frequency, multiband, low Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), miniaturize antenna can be designed. Metamaterial is a kind of defect that can be created either in ground, substrate or other places of antennas. All metamaterial based antennas are known as left handed material antenna where permittivity and permeability are negative. Meta material antennas are very much useful for its left handed structure for which it can be used as Body Worn Antenna, because the radiations instead of absorptions by the body direct outwards which can reduce the Specific absorption Rate. Normally human body parameters are dealing with low frequency signals. At low frequency, antenna size is high. So, fractal antenna can be designed to increase the antenna size at low frequency with minimum area. Reconfigurable antenna can give multiband facility. Human body parameters with different frequencies can be transmitted at a time with the help of a single antenna using reconfiguration property. So the proposed body worn antenna can be designed with multiband capacity by metamaterial reconfigurable fractal antenna structure at low frequency. The HFSS software is used for antenna design purpose.
