Abstract

A two-dimensional (2D) cluster-based coordination polymer with 4,4-net framework was assembled from solution using the metal–ligand directed assembly methodology. The 2D framework undergoes solvent-mediated structural transformations leading to formation of either a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded framework when using MeOH solution of (Et4N)+ or one-dimensional coordination polymer in the presence of MeOH solution of 4,4′-dipyridyl N,N′-dioxide (dpyo).
