Abstract
Complexes of D,L-penicillamine (H 2pen) with a number of metal ions have been isolated. The [Ni(pen)], Li 2[Zn(pen) 2]. 4H 2O, and [Pb(pen)] complexes contain dinegative ligands, whereas in [Pd(Hpen)Cl]. H 2O the ligand coordinates as a mononegative ion. All the complexes contain −S − and −NH 2 coordination and all, save the dimeric palladium(II) derivative and the zinc(II) complex, contain coordinated −COO −.
