Abstract

In this article we develop the concept of a conformal, anisotropic material layer for mesh truncation in the finite-element analysis of electromagnetic wave propagation problems. The layer, which can be as close as λ/10 from the object, absorbs electromagnetic waves of arbitrary frequency, irrespective of the incident angle. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
