Abstract

Clinical Forensic Medicine is that branch of medicine that deals with both the provision of clinical services (i.e., diagnosis, treatment, and management) to patients and the medicolegal aspects of patient care. Training is essential to ensure that practitioners have the knowledge and skills to work in a potentially coercive environment. Clinical forensic medical services should be of an appropriate standard with monitoring and governance arrangements. Such oversight is to the benefit of all parties with a stake in the provision of clinical forensic medical services.
