Abstract

One of the methods of resolving conflicts at school is mediation, during which the conflicting parties can independently work out a solution that is satisfactory for them. School mediation allows for searching for an agreement with the help of a third party, who is a neutral and impartial mediator. The article focuses on presenting the benefits associated with the use of mediation in the school environment, emphasizing in particular its educational potential, as well as indicating various barriers and difficulties related to the introduction of mediation in schools and its practical application in school conflicts. The article also presents the results of own research, the objective of which was to learn about the experiences and opinions of school mediators and students-future educators regarding the school mediation. The entities that conduct school mediation in the city of Rzeszów as well as activities promoting the idea of mediation in the school environment were also presented.
