Abstract

A herniated Meckel's diverticulum is very rare, although its signature protrusion of the bowel and/or omentum as a trocar-site hernia is well-known. We report a case of small-bowel obstruction caused by early-onset site hernia diagnosed on the fifth day following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Our report is the first to describe a protrusion of Meckel's diverticulum resulting from herniation at the 5-mm trocar site after such an early postoperative period.
