Abstract

The effect of applied pressure duration and passage of a current, current density and compaction pressure on the ultimate strength of powder steel are studied. It is established that the most strongly acting production factor of ECC that affects structure formation and ultimate strength of powder steel is the current strength. The maximum ultimate strength that is achieved with complete dissolution of carbon in an iron base with residual porosity of the order of 1.5–2.0% with formation of a bainitic structure is determined.
