Abstract

To investigate the mechanical characteristics of different track systems on multi-span simply supported bridge under braking load, the spatial bridge-track interaction finite element models considering multi-layer nonlinear interaction were established, and the forces and displacements of different bridge-track systems under braking load were analyzed. The following results are demonstrated based on the research: Under the braking force load, the distribution laws of rail additional stress of different tracks on multi-span simply supported bridge are similar. The position of rail maximum additional stress changes with the variation of the loading area, and the maximum additional stress appears at the loading end. The rail fastener of the ballasted track and double block ballastless track will slide under the action of braking force. Longitudinal forces of piers of bridges with ballast track and CRTS I double-block ballastless track are greater than that with CRTS II slab ballastless track when the loading position is the same. It is recommended that the design of bridge piers needs to take into account of the type of track laid on the bridg
