Abstract

Stereoscopic particle image velocimetry measurements have been performed to quantify the centerline flow field associated with oblique shock-vortex interactions. This novel data set provides a unique view into the time-averaged velocity and turbulence kinetic energy distribution of weak and moderate interactions. Traditionally visualized using qualitative techniques, these data demonstrate that even weak interactions will result in measurable alterations to the flow field.
