Abstract

This method of intracavity laser spectroscopy (ILS), which has been developed and used for the measurement of forbidden transitions in metal atoms, enables the measurement of k/sub 0/ beta down to 10/sup -7/, making it possible to achieve progress in the measurement of probabilities of very weak transitions. The authors describe the setup of ILS and measuer the probabilities of forbidden transitions in Mn atom. To process the absorption contour of each line by a computer the authors distortions of th absorption contour, and also the finite size of the measuring interval.
