Abstract

Results are presented for a measurement of the differential elastic cross-section dτel/dt, the single-diffraction dissociation double differential crossection d2αsd/dM2dt and the total inelastic cross-section in antiproton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies √s=546 and 1800 GeV. The elastic-scattering slope is 15.28±0.58 (16.98±0.25)GeV−2 at √s= (1800) GeV. Using the luminosity-independent method, (1+ρ2)αT is measured to be 62.64±0.95 (81.83±2.29) mb at √s=546 (1800) GeV. Assuming ρ=0.15, the elastic, total and single-diffractive cross-sections are τel=12.87±0.30, τT=61.26±0.93 and τsd= 7.89±0.33 mb (τel=1970±0.85, τT=80.03±2.24 and τsd=9.46±0.44 mb) at 546 (1800) GeV.
