Abstract

A fast (8 keV) neutral lithium beam probe was developed for the measurement of edge density profile in the heliotron/torsatron CHS. It was designed to attain good penetration and to be compatible with good spatial (≈0.01 m) and temporal (≈3 ms) resolution. Two complementary methods of density determination from the beam emission signal were used. For the low density region with (nel)
