Abstract

Mollerup, J. and Angelo, P., 1985. Measurement and correlation of the volumetric properties of a synthetic natural gas mixture. Fluid Phase Equilibria, 19: 259-271. The volumetric properties of a synthetic natural gas mixture are determined experimentally by a Burnett apparatus at 255, 290, 315, and 345K at pressures up to 70 MPa. The nominal composition of the investigated mixture is in mole per cent 90% methane, 6% ethane, 2% propane, and 2% nitrogen. The compression factors are calculated by fitting simultaneously the isothermal pressure series to the Burnett relation and the virial equation. Compression factors at integral pressures are also calculated from the experimental data and compared with compression factors predicted by a corresponding states method.
