Abstract

New experimental vapor–liquid equilibrium data for binary mixtures of 1,4-dioxane with four isomeric butanols, have been measured in an ebulliometer at 15 conditions. Five popular activity coefficient models have been used to correlate each set of data through two different optimization methods to obtain values of the vapor compositions. The results of these correlations have been compared and discussed. Comparisons have also been made between the present data and the available published data on the systems containing isomeric butanols with 1,4-dioxane.
