Abstract

Abstract Measles a highly contagious viral disease continues to cause childhood mortality worldwide. Measles outbreaks are increasingly reported in the US and Europe. This resurgence of measles makes it opportune to review the biology of the measles virus, clinical manifestations of infection and the pharmacology of the measles vaccine. Though measles vaccine is highly immunogenic and safe, sustaining high vaccination rates is essential to maintain measles eradication in the US. This article is protected by copyright.
