Abstract

Global energy system and environment is facing enormous challenges. Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy synergies in smart grid can be of great significance to ensure energy security, prevent air pollution, promote energy saving and carbon-emission reduction. But due to randomness and intermittent nature of renewable energy coordinating the synergies of electric vehicles and renewable energy is full of challenges. This gap is a research focus that can help in the understanding of how best to address, so to maximize energy usage. This review is focused on- First, the architecture of smart micro-grid and the interaction between electric vehicles and renewable energy. Then, the advances in electric vehicles and renewable energy development is analyzed. Second, what is more economic- smart charging, coordinated renewable- scheduling and energy management technologies is investigated to rationalize best path for maximum energy usage. Finally, the future research directions- for electric vehicles and renewable energy to aggregate efficiency and demand response, as well as support/limitation/ innovation for a responsive renewable energy integrated smart grid is suggested.
