Abstract

1. In a study of the thermal oxidation of normal paraffins inhibited by compounds with a system of conjugation (anthracene, polyphenylacetylene, etc.) it has been established that the activating influence of the paramagnetic particles contained in them can only arise when there is sufficient correspondence of the structure of the paramagnetic particles and the diamagnetic molecules of the inhibitor which they activate. 2. The results obtained confirm the proposed mechanism of the inhibiting action of compounds with a system of conjugation under the influence of paramagnetic particles — centers of local activation.
