Summary

Introduction

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared CoViD-19 as a pandemic, after months of growing global concern. The sudden “digital transformation of everyday life” [4], which required to deliver the same educational courses through online video conferencing software or dedicated distance learning platforms, has significantly impacted the performance of students and their capability of completing the standard courses, while stressing existing technological barriers and digital divides. This shift has significantly challenged educators in adapting classes and courses to the all-digital scenario [5, 6], causing an increase in stress, anxiety, and depression [7]. In addition to overburdening teachers and students, many aspects of school attendance have been severely impacted, including social interaction, peer accompaniment, and participation to field trips, all of which constitute a major part of the scholastic experience [8, 9]
