Abstract

EnglishMy work focuses on Reyna Barrera’s novel Sandra, secreto amor (2001), and Elena Madrigal’s short story «iPantera! iPantera!» from the collection Contarte en lesbico (2010). I analyze how female masculinity can serve to create dissident masculinities that undermine normative ideas regarding sexuality and gender in Mexican society. My argument is based on Adrienne Rich’s idea of the lesbian continuum in order to think, not only about sexuality, but also about gender as a spectrum and not as something static.
