The special issue with the title Markov and Semi-Markov Chains, Processes, Systems, and Emerging Related Fields includes fourteen articles published in the journal of “Mathematics” in the section of “Probability and Statistics”, in the period from January–August 2021. The class of stochastic processes defined as Non-Homogeneous Markov systems are, in effect, a generalization of a Markov chain.
