The article examines marketing logistics as an integrated management system within transport enterprises, emphasizing its role in creating sustainable competitive advantages through the effective management of flows and delivery of services that preserve consumer value. In modern economic conditions, traditional isolated application of marketing and logistics tools often fails to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives, particularly under circumstances of high uncertainty, resource limitations, and disruptions in supply chains, such as those experienced during martial law. Marketing logistics emerges as an integrative mechanism that combines market-oriented approaches with process- and flow-oriented logistics, aligning demand generation with the enterprise’s operational capabilities. A critical review of domestic and international literature reveals a lack of unified conceptual understanding of marketing logistics. Foreign studies tend to interpret it from a logistics perspective, emphasizing operational efficiency and physical distribution, while domestic research increasingly views it as a comprehensive, integrative system that coordinates marketing and logistics decisions to achieve long-term competitive advantages. The article classifies approaches to marketing logistics into three groups: functional-distributional, integration-oriented, and value-oriented (synthetic), reflecting its evolution from a narrowly operational function to a strategic management concept. The study offers a conceptual generalization of marketing logistics as an integrated management system under conditions of high uncertainty. The study identifies key objectives and tactical tasks of marketing logistics, including ensuring full and timely satisfaction of consumer demand, optimizing logistics costs, maintaining service quality, enhancing resilience, and supporting sustainable development and digital transformation. The article further delineates the core functions of marketing logistics — analytical, planning, organizational, coordination, control, and value-oriented — demonstrating their integrative nature in harmonizing marketing and logistics processes. Comparative analysis highlights that marketing logistics not only delivers physical products but also generates additional value for the consumer by balancing service levels with operational efficiency. The findings underscore the relevance of marketing logistics as a holistic management tool for transport enterprises operating in dynamic and uncertain environments. Prospects for further research include the development of digital, data-driven, and adaptive approaches to enhance efficiency, resilience, and sustainability in marketing logistics processes.

The aim of the article is to identify the dynamics of innovation activity among Ukrainian business entities and to reveal the emerging trends amid national and global challenges. Analysis results. The research presents a comprehensive analysis of the Global Innovation Index (GII), indicators of innovation activity and efficiency, and the sectoral structure of innovation development for the period 2017–2024. Ukraine demonstrated its best GII results during the pre-war period (ranked 50th in 2017 and 43rd in 2018), while the war period saw a decline (from 57th place in 2022 to 60th in 2024), mainly due to delayed reforms and the impacts of the war. Ukraine's strongest performance lies in knowledge creation and technology outputs (25th place in 2020, 34th in 2024), indicating high scientific and educational potential. At the same time, the greatest weakness is found in the institutional environment (107th in 2024), which has been deteriorating annually, pointing to insufficient state support for innovation and regulatory inefficiencies. An analysis of innovation activity shows a decline in the share of industrial enterprises implementing innovations – from 14.3% in 2017 to 5.4% in 2021 – with a slight recovery to 6.5% in 2023, still significantly below pre-war levels. Internal corporate funds remain the primary source of innovation financing, accounting for 78.9% to 88.2% of the total. Government funding and foreign investment continue to be limited and unstable. The dynamics of innovative product implementation also reveal a downturn in 2021 and a moderate recovery in 2022–2023, linked to the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and martial law. The share of innovative products in total output peaked in 2020 (1.9%) but dropped sharply to 0.5% in 2023 due to the destruction of production facilities and supply chain disruptions, forcing businesses to focus on essential goods. A sectoral analysis of innovation activity highlights the leadership of the IT sector (around 40% of all technological innovations) and significant growth in the agricultural sector (investments in agri-tech startups increased by 45% in 2023). Conclusions and directions for further research. It was found that, despite reduced investments and the loss of technical expertise, martial law acted as a catalyst for the development of specific innovation areas, such as military technologies, cybersecurity, medical solutions, logistics innovations, and renewable energy. Key trends include the digitalization of processes, the advancement of defense technologies, environmental transformation, and the adoption of artificial intelligence. It is substantiated that innovation remains a key driver of Ukraine’s economic growth. Despite substantial geopolitical and economic challenges, Ukrainian innovative companies and startups continue to evolve and attract foreign investment. The scientific novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive analysis of Ukraine’s innovation landscape under the unprecedented conditions of war and digital transformation, with the identification of key trends. The practical significance of the study lies in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the national innovation ecosystem, which can serve as a foundation for shaping an effective innovation model capable of ensuring sustainable economic development, technological modernization, and integration into global value chains. Further scientific exploration is required to develop mechanisms for adapting innovation-driven enterprises, including the transformation of business models, production and management processes, and risk response strategies. This will enable the formulation of actionable recommendations to enhance the resilience and flexibility of companies in conditions of high turbulence.

Introduction. The full-scale war launched by russia against Ukraine in 2022 caused unprecedented disruptions to the country’s industrial sector. Many enterprises suffered physical destruction or had to suspend operations. Those that remained operational faced severe challenges, including soaring costs of energy, logistics, labor, and security. The economic impact was reflected in significantly increased production costs and deteriorating financial indicators. These conditions called for a profound rethinking of cost management systems and emphasized the need for innovation and digitalization in enterprise operations. The purpose of the article. This article aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of cost management practices in Ukrainian industrial enterprises under martial law, focusing on how war-induced shocks transformed cost structures. It explores modern, data-driven approaches to cost analysis, including real-time accounting automation, Big Data, adaptive budgeting, and scenario planning as tools to enhance resilience and financial stability. Methods. The study employs a comparative analytical approach, synthesizing theoretical insights, official statistics, consulting reports, and real-world case studies. The empirical basis includes data from the metallurgy, machinery, and agriculture sectors during 2022-2024. Key sources involve academic publications, reports from consulting firms (Deloitte, KPMG), and analytical insights from national statistical and sectoral agencies. Results. The analysis reveals structural shifts in cost composition due to war-related factors: rising energy dependence, logistics bottlenecks, labor shortages, and inflation. Ukrainian enterprises experienced dramatic increases in production costs – particularly energy and transportation – due to damaged infrastructure and currency depreciation. To cope with these pressures, companies introduced modern cost optimization practices. Many adopted digital tools, including ERP systems, business intelligence (BI) dashboards, and AI-powered analytics. These technologies enabled real-time expense tracking and forecasting. Big Data tools allowed enterprises to analyze demand patterns, manage inventory more efficiently, and reduce excess costs. Adaptive budgeting approaches provided organizations with flexibility to reallocate resources rapidly in response to market volatility, especially during energy price spikes or supply chain disruptions. The article includes a comparative table contrasting traditional versus innovative cost management methods, highlighting the advantages of automation, predictive analytics, and integrated financial planning. It also presents practical case studies where Ukrainian companies used digital solutions to mitigate cost risks and maintain operational efficiency amid external uncertainty. Conclusions. The study concludes that traditional cost accounting models – based on static, retrospective reporting – are no longer sufficient under wartime conditions. The new paradigm emphasizes flexibility, speed, and data-driven decision-making. Integration of digital solutions such as ERP, BI, and AI analytics increases operational adaptability, enhances cost transparency, and supports strategic agility. However, the transformation process faces several barriers: outdated IT infrastructure, a lack of qualified analysts, and limited financial resources for innovation. Despite these challenges, phased implementation and management commitment can ensure success. Digital transformation is not merely a technological shift –it requires a cultural evolution toward evidence-based management. Ultimately, the article argues that resilient cost management during crises must combine short-term tactical actions (e.g., energy saving, resource optimization) with long-term digital strategies. Companies that invest in analytical infrastructure and adopt scenario-based financial planning will be better equipped to navigate volatility and ensure competitive advantage in post-war recovery. The findings contribute to a growing body of knowledge on enterprise resilience and provide practical guidance for industrial managers operating under extreme uncertainty.

The study is devoted to the actual problem of motivating personnel at transport enterprises, the urgency of which is beyond doubt, since finding ways to solve it is one of the most important issues of improving the economic mechanism. At the current stage, the problem of motivation is of great importance. The majority of Ukrainian enterprises pay significant attention only to material motivation, namely, they use traditional mechanisms of material motivation, i.e. the payment of wages, allowances and one-time bonuses, which in turn devalues the desire of employees for labor competitiveness. Personnel is the most complex and specific type of resources used by the enterprise in its activities. Therefore, the essence of motivation comes down to creating the conditions that denied workers the feeling that they could satisfy their needs with such behavior that ensures the achievement of goals organizations. The efficiency of the enterprise largely depends on the efficiency of the personnel. It is due to the employee's interest in the results of his work, when creating proper working conditions, it is possible to achieve an increase in labor productivity. Motivation is one of the main functions of management at all enterprises, because only under the conditions of effective motivation can the enterprise realize its potential for the highest quality economic growth. That is why the issue of improving the motivation of personnel at transport enterprises is one of the most urgent. The results. Proposals for motivating employees at transport enterprises in modern conditions have been developed. Scientific novelty. It is determined by a set of scientific provisions, conclusions and recommendations of a theoretical nature, aimed at solving the problem of motivating the personnel of transport enterprises.

  • J Blackhurst* + 3 more

While the literature related to supply-chain disruptions is informative, it has primarily focused on supply-chain disruptions from a general or high-level view of the phenomenon (e.g. supply-chain uncertainty, risk perceptions). Additionally, although most would agree that disruptions are present in all supply chains, there is a limited amount of information on how to deal with them from a practical perspective in both the short term and long term. Because of the importance of and research needs within this area, we launched a major multi-industry, multi-methodology empirical study on supply-chain disruptions. The study is multi-faceted in that it seeks insights into many issues within the broad area of global sourcing and supply-chain disruptions. Throughout our various interactions with industry, we found that several common themes and issues surfaced as being critical to successful disruption analysis and mitigation as well as resilient supply-chain design. Within this paper, we report on these key issues and discuss the needs within the supply-chain research to contribute to them.
