AbstractThis chapter discusses the general considerations of marker-assisted introgression (MAI), the MAI of a major gene into an inbred line, MAI for a single and multiple QTL, MAI in an outbred population and the efficiency and costs of different breeding strategies if multiple QTL are introgressed.
