Abstract

In this work, tidal corrosion of X80 steel under the federative action of Desulfovibrio desulfuricans and Pseudomonas sp. was studied. The results indicated that the metabolism of Desulfovibrio desulfuricans and Pseudomonas sp. is affected by bacterial competition and nutrient content. The federative action of Desulfovibrio desulfuricans and Pseudomonas sp. accelerates the steel corrosion in marine tidal environment, but the acceleration effect is slightly lower than that of the independent bacteria. Corrosion rates of the steel increase with the altitude and the experiment time in the federative inoculation tidal environment.
