Abstract

This article sought to identify in scientific productions the importance of the Maria da Penha Law in Brazil and its relevance to women and families, as well as its implementation in Municipal Public Security bodies. This is a literature review study, using a qualitative approach that surveyed 27 scientific productions, which were analyzed in terms of title, year of publication, journal, author and type of document. The 2030 Agenda includes 17 SDGs, including SDG 5, which calls for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls and the elimination of all forms of discrimination, violence and harmful practices, guaranteeing and valuing women's rights and ensuring access to their rights and guarantees. It also encourages the adoption of solid policies to promote gender equality and SDG 16, which deals with peace, justice and effective institutions. Among the goals of this SDG, it is worth highlighting the reduction of the feminicide rate in Brazil.
