Abstract
As Research Director of Baylor College of Medicine Pediatric Diabetes & Endocrinology Section (Houston, TX, USA), MarÍa José Redondo's broad-ranging research combines several major projects across precision medicine in paediatric diabetes. Her work ranges from identification of genetic and environmental causes to investigating how these factors can be leveraged for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. “The unifying topic that I'm interested in is the heterogeneity of type 1 diabetes and how understanding that can be used to apply precision medicine”, she explains.
