Abstract

Drs Barber and Stockwell have collated a wealth of experience into a well-written, well-organized manual of electronystagmography (ENG). The illustrated text includes material on applied neurophysiology, the establishment of an ENG laboratory, as well as how to evaluate the important eye movement systems. The book stresses the interpretation of the electronystagmographic record. The authors are careful to include recording artifacts that often make readings of electronystagmographs difficult for the novice. The volume ends with illustrative cases of both normal and pathological eye movement recordings. TheManual of Electronystagmographyis one of the most readable accounts on the subject yet available. This book would seem to be essential to anyone who wishes to study ENG and wishes to begin using electronystagmographs as a tool in diagnosis of nystagmus disorders.
