Abstract
The importance of efficient and effective management of information technology (IT) in order to better leverage IT strategically has often been emphasized. However, most cases on IT management involve companies in the private sector rather than those in the public sector. In this paper, we examine IT management at a government agency, namely the Housing and Development Board. A holistic IT management approach encompassing the formulation and implementation of the Information Systems Plan (ISP), Information Systems Work Plan (ISWP), Quality Management System (QMS) and IT Training Strategy, are presented and lessons learnt are discussed.
