Managerial creativity and its development supported by artificial intelligence: a comparative perspective between Europe and Asia and empirical evidence from industrial enterprises
This study examines managerial creativity and AI-supported development, comparing European and Asian approaches, and empirically surveys 109 industrial L&D professionals in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Findings reveal moderate internal learning effectiveness, high AI interest for personalization and creativity, and propose a model of AI as a partner in augmented creativity, while highlighting ethical and organizational challenges.
Managerial creativity is a key competency for ensuring innovation and competitiveness in the context of globalization and rapid technological change. This paper analyses the factors influencing managers' creative thinking, methods for its development and organizational strategies, with a comparative look at European and Asian approaches. Findings suggest that Asian organizations favour collective creativity, structured learning, and technocentric AI integration, while European models emphasize individual autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a human-centered AI ethic. The study combines a qualitative literature review with a quantitative survey of 109 L&D professionals in industrial enterprises in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The results showed moderate effectiveness of internal learning processes, with adaptation of new employees, inadequate measurement of outcomes and low motivation to learn being the main barriers. Information flow was often restricted by outdated processes. However, respondents showed high interest in using AI to support personalisation, onboarding and the development of creative thinking. Based on the analysis, a model of AI supporting 'augmented creativity' is proposed, where generative AI acts as a partner to develop divergent thinking and flexibility in problem solving. The study also highlights ethical and organisational challenges, such as automation bias or the risk of limiting creative autonomy, and recommends a hybrid approach combining a European focus on individual initiative and ethics with an Asian collective responsibility and technology focus.

Creativity and creative thinking are considered as innate skills developed under positive environmental conditions, stagnating or dulling under negative environmental conditions. Creativity and creative thinking skills, which can be improved with education, have taken their place among the general aims of education in our country. Many factors especially such as family and social and physical environ-ment, school, curriculum, teacher etc. affect the development of individuals' creativity and creative thinking skills. This review study was conducted in order to compile and present the basic information in the literature about creativity and creative thinking. First of all, definitions related to creativity concept were given and the approaches that originated from these definitions were examined in the scope of the study. Then, features of creative individual, misunderstandings about creativity, dimensi-ons and stages of creativity were given. The factors that prevent creativity were discussed after mentio-ning the relationship between the concepts of intelligence, age, brain, divergent thinking and imagina-tion. On the other hand, definitions of thinking and thought concepts are given and information about creative thinking which is one of the high level thinking skills is presented. In addition, the ways of facilitating the development of creative thinking, learning-teaching environments, teacher characteris-tics are mentioned, and the duties of parents and the environment to develop and support creativity are explained. It is hoped that this study which can be considered as “a brief handbook of creativity and creative thinking” will contribute to the literature, the creativity of individuals and the development of creative thinking skills.

An analysis of the essence and development of creative thinking, the determination of the main structural elements of this phenomenon makes it possible to identify effective approaches to the formation and development of professional creative thinking of students. You can define a few approaches to the formation of creative personality thinking. This is a systematic, activity and cultural approaches. Within the system approach, the main components of creative thinking are considered not distinguished, but in interconnection with each other as a holistic system. The definition of creative activity of personality and its personal abilities is the basis of a personal approach. The activity approach is guided by educational and scientific activities in the educational process and is the main condition for the development of professional creative thinking of students. The meaningful basis of the culturological approach is assimilated by values. To the main elements of training that are capable of influencing the formation of creative thinking of students is problematic, that is, in order to increase mental activity it is necessary to include problematic tasks, simulated situations. This approach will contribute to the formation of creative thinking of students, therefore, in our opinion; the methodology of problem-oriented learning is the most successful. Students are given the opportunity to solve complex tasks independently, make decisions and open scientific truths. Making a new material to think, analyze the facts synthesizing new ideas, develop reflexive thinking by self-knowledge, self-observation.

The article highlights that in the space of modern design and artistic and creative education, in particular decorative and applied arts, the importance of paper is growing as both a creative material for modelling and for creating artistic products, and at the same time, the paper is simultaneously one of the most accessible art materials both from the viewpoint of ease of use and cost, and paper craft is an important basis for students' perception and creation of more complex artistic forms of professional art. It is noted that despite various editions, this disparity does not allow fully revealing paper-making as a conceptual whole – in the diversity of its connections with project culture, creative laboratory and design methodology in design. The purpose of the article is to reveal paper-making in the space of decorative and applied arts as well as to identify its theoretical and methodological foundations and to substantiate the role of paper-making in modern design for the formation of students' creative thinking alongside the formation of their artistic and pedagogical skills. These methods were applied and used to reveal the problem: general scientific (analysis, synthesis, generalization, systematization); scientific and specific: historical, artistic, pedagogical, psychological and approaches: systemic-structural, structural-functional, comparative, with the help of which the opinion regarding the phenomenon of paper-making is generalized, its essential content is clarified in the plane of decorative and applied arts, in modern design, and methodical methods are specified principles to the problem regarding the development of creative thinking of students specialized in artistic and pedagogical mastery. In the main content, it is noted that on the basis of methodological provisions and basic principles of traditional craftsmanship, the creative and essential foundations for decorative and applied arts are manifested, which ensures the formation of components of artistic competence and, at the same time, requires the use of students’ creative and figurative thinking. The idea of the key figurative-essential basis for paper-making is provided and it is noted that mastering the specifics of artistic imagery forms students' aesthetic ideas as well as a valuable act of understanding the world. It is highlighted that "paper plastic" also reflects the specificity of the author's approach to the study of compositional, constructive, structural and technological regularities of the work with material. In the content of the Methodological recommendations for conducting practical lessons, it is emphasized that the result should reflect the student's mastery – from the initial sketch through full-scale sketches to the design of the idea in the material. It is justified that in addition to the traditional methodical principles of education, there is a need to use certain art technologies. It is emphasized that the implementation of the developed "Conceptual Technology" in the teaching space of paper-making contributed to the decision-making process regarding the means of creating an artistic image. In the conclusions, it is noted that paper-making as a type of activity occupies an intermediate position between learning and playing and meets the conditions that ensure the effectiveness of the development of creative activity. Learning and practical work in the technique of papier-mâché using papier-mâché is important for the formation and development of abstract, associative, combinatorial, logical thinking, in the process of learning "paper-mâché" the creative thinking of students is formed and the skills of stylization and generalization are acquired, which involves the acquisition of practical experience for figurative reproduction. In the perspective of further research, it is important to consider the need to research, develop and create a model for the development of the future designer’s artistic and creative competence.

The article substantiates the need to create conditions for the formation of students' creative personalities, realization and self-realization of their opportunities and possibilities in the educational process. It is noted that a significant tendency of modern education is its intensification, which primarily implies a reduction in the number of hours for studying subjects, while their content remains unchanged. Thus, it makes impossible for students to master ways and means of solving non-standard creative tasks and objectives. Therefore, the problem of developing and introducing technologies for the development of creative thinking of high school pupils in extracurricular activities is urgent and important. The authors analyzed modern approaches to understanding the concept of "creativity", identified the main components of the creative process, traced the relationship between creativity and thinking. The characteristic features of creative thinking are determined, the features of its development in high school pupils in the process of participation in extracurricular activities are revealed. The state of development of creative thinking of high school pupils, including participants of the III-rd and IV-th stages of the Olympiad in information technologies and research works contest of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, including the members of the study groups ("Applied Software" and "Automation of Scientific Research") is analyzed. Insufficient level of students' creative thinking and poor motivation for its development were revealed. The technology of development of creative thinking of high school pupils during the classes of the "Applied software" study group is offered and described. On the basis of the analysis of the results of the forming stage of the experiment, it is concluded that its influence on the level of high school pupils' basic theoretical knowledge in computer science, practical skills and non-standard IT / CS problem solving skills, as well as the development of algorithmic, systemic and creative thinking.

The article is devoted to studying the theoretical and methodological foundations of implementing the creative management technology «factory of ideas» in the activities of an architectural and construction company. The authors emphasise the relevance of this problem in the modern market environment, where architectural and construction companies face high competition and fast changing consumer demands. In addition to improving technological processes, companies need to introduce modern management methods aimed at stimulating the creative potential of employees and generating innovative solutions in order to ensure success and sustainable development. The study looks at the nature and the main stages of the implementation of a «factory of ideas» in an architectural and construction company. The key stages are identified as follows: preparation phase, formation of working groups, organisation of training for employees, collection and analysis of ideas, development of strategies for their implementation, pilot implementation, monitoring and control of implementation, and continuous improvement of a creative management element. The article addresses the issue of implementing BIM technologies in an architectural and construction company by giving an example of the implementation of a «factory of ideas» . The article is a detailed description of the implementation of the above stages in this context. It has been found that for the manager-head of an architectural and construction company, participation in the «factory of ideas» can be an important motivational factor. According to these reasons, this process stimulates creativity, encourages interacting and collaborating with the team, and maintains openness to new ideas. As a result, participation in the factory of ideas increases the manager’s motivation, promotes the development of creative thinking and communication skills, and contributes to finding innovative solutions in the architectural and construction industry. It is emphasised that the successful implementation of the factory of ideas can be a key factor in increasing the company’s competitiveness and ensuring that it continues to develop and innovate. The paper concludes that the introduction of a factory of ideas in architectural and construction companies allows all employees to be actively involved in solving key tasks. It promotes the creation of new ideas and the improvement of the existing ones. The main benefits are an increase in work efficiency, the stimulation of creativity and innovative thinking, and an improvement in team communication and co-operation. At the same time, the authors stress the importance of proper staff training, monitoring of implementation results and continuous improvement of the «factory of ideas» as a tool for creative management.

The study is devoted to the adaptation of new employees in modern Russian companies. The purpose of the study is to analyse the conformity of approaches to the organization of adaptation in large and medium Russian companies to international trends in personnel management. The main focus is on studying the degree of involvement of managers and the role of HR managers in the adaptation of new employees, the regulation of the adaptation process, the use of digital technologies in organizing the adaptation. The study was conducted in an on-line survey format among 140 leaders and HR managers of deferent Russian companies in December 2019. The first day of a new employee’s work most often begins with a meeting with an HR manager and team leader, but then their role and influence in the adaptation process are further reduced. Most Russian companies don’t have a built-in adaptation system as a process, single format for the adaptation plan, welcome trainings and a mentor’s systems for new workers, final meetings with feedback at the end of the adaptation period. Also, companies rarely use modern digital technologies to organize the adaptation process. At the same time, most of the participants in the study felt themselves maximally adapted both professionally and psychologically after 3 months of work. It can be assumed that if an effective adaptation system is created in the company, then the term for the adaptation of new employees to the working environment will be reduced to 2 months.

The study aimed to assess the relationship between a safe learning environment in Emirati schools and the development of student's creative thinking. Using a descriptive method with stratified random sampling, the researchers selected a sample of 500 male and female teachers. Two questionnaires were employed: one assessing the safe learning environment (20 items) and another measuring creative thinking (20 items). Results indicated a high teacher perception of a safe learning environment, with statistically significant chi-square values for all items. Similarly, teachers perceived a high level of creative thinking development, with significant chi-square values for all items. Gender and experience did not show statistically significant differences in the perception of a safe learning environment. However, teachers with over 10 years of experience demonstrated higher levels of creative thinking development. Notably, a significant correlation was found between a safe learning environment and the development of students' creative thinking in Emirati schools. This study aligns with the UAE Ministry of Education's mission to create a safe and creative educational system that meets the needs of a globally competitive knowledge society. The aim of the research is to analyse the impact of interactive art projects on the development of creative abilities of future artists and musicians. The research employed testing methods (Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT), Creative Skills Assessment, Divergent Thinking Test). The reliability of the methods was tested by using Cronbach’s alpha. The results were tested using standard statistical methods, namely chi-square, mean deviation, t-test. The experimental group (EG) demonstrated statistically significant better idea generation (p = 0.04, d = 0.23) and flexibility (p = 0.02, d = 0.43) compared to the control group (CG). The study found a statistically significant difference between the EG and the CG on some measures of creativity and divergent thinking. The EG demonstrated better idea generation and flexibility compared to the CG. The obtained results confirm the research hypothesis and testify to the positive impact of virtual art projects on the students’ creative development. Studies with larger numbers of participants and better control for extraneous factors are needed to definitively confirm and better understand the reasons for these discrepancies.

Hand gestures play an integral role in multimodal language and communication. Even though the self-oriented functions of gestures, such as activating a speaker’s lexicon and maintaining visuospatial imagery, have been emphasized, gestures’ functions in creative thinking are not well-established. In the current study, we investigated the role of iconic gestures in verbal divergent thinking—a creative thinking process related to generating many novel ideas. Based on previous findings, we hypothesized that iconic gesture use would facilitate divergent thinking in young adults, especially those with high mental imagery skills. Participants performed Guildford’s Alternative Uses Task in a gesture-spontaneous and in a gesture-encouraged condition. We measured fluency (number of ideas), originality (uniqueness of ideas), flexibility (number of idea categories), and elaboration (number of details) in divergent thinking. The results showed that producing iconic gestures in the gesture-encouraged condition positively predicted fluency, originality, and elaboration. In the gesture-spontaneous condition, producing iconic gestures also positively predicted elaboration but negatively predicted flexibility. Mental imagery skills did not interact with the effects of gestures on divergent thinking. These results suggest that iconic gestures are a promising candidate for enhancing almost all aspects of divergent thinking. Overall, the current study adds a new dimension to the self-oriented function of iconic gestures, that is, their contribution to creative thinking.

This study investigated the effect of training in creative thinking skills on Educational Psychology II achievement of tertiary education students. The study adopted a pre-test, posttest and control design. Four research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. The undergraduate Creative Thinking Questionnaire (UNCTQ) was employed in data collection. The instrument was developed by the researchers and it had two items bordering on creativity and critical thinking. It has a ceiling point of 100%. Undergraduates who scores less than 50% were selected through randomization for the study. The objective of selecting them was to teach them creative thinking skills. The UNCTQ was used at pre-test before the training exercise. UNCTQ-1 which was reshuffled after the six weeks training on creative thinking was the second instrument which served as a post-test instrument. The instrument was validated by specialists and was determined to have reliability coefficients of 0.71 and 0.80. Data collected was analyzed in two domains: Descriptive statistics was employed in answering the research questions whereas analysis of co-variance (ANCOVA) was employed in testing the hypotheses formulated. The study found that participants in convergent treatment group had improved achievement mean score at posttest assessment; those in divergent thinking treatment group improved and higher achievement mean score at posttest and that those in inspirational thinking skill group obtained a higher achievement mean score at posttest. The study therefore recommends as follows: that training in creative thinking be encouraged in all tiers of education in Nigeria, using the techniques of convergent, divergent and inspirational thinking skills etc.
